The sound design was Eh, however the interpretation of the Whisperer’s creaky robot-like voice was on-point, and contrasted with the 1930’s aesthetic, making the characters’ confusion about the technology within the movie universe transfer to the viewer.ĭirecting was also quite good, with mostly all the characters knowing exactly what they needed to do and script-wise they all did a pretty good job.

Her potential can clearly be seen towards the very end, but throughout the third act she seemed really outside of the movie and had little to no expression on her face. I’d also like to point out the somewhat weird acting of the Farmer’s daughter character (Hannah Masterson played by Autumn Wendell). The performances there were dull, and, in combination with the cgi, the last part of the movie resulted in a huge mess, being the climactic moment of the story and the least interesting part of the movie all in one. Unfortunately, the Third Act didn’t go as well. In the First Act, the cast preformed a really immersive scenery of a 1930’s horror flick, going into the second act, where the performances are way leas eva eccentric and way more creepy and off-putting.
